William Robert DUGAY (Sergeant 119)
Birth: 1880 Basingstoke, Hampshire, EnglandDeath: 26 August 1915 (age 35) No 1 General Hospital, Cairo Cemetery or Memorial: Cairo War Memorial Cemetery, Egypt Father: Mother: Annie Dugay William arrived in Australia from England 14 March 1900. He gave his occupation as Bootmaker when he enlisted 2 September 1914 at Sydney and his next of kin his mother Mrs Annie Wood of Ely Douglas Park. His father was deceased. He had previously served 12 years in the Navy and also worked on a dredge with the Deptartment of Public Works in Sydney. William served in the 3rd Battalion A.I.F. He departed Sydney on the 'Euripides' 19 October 1914. His brother Private George Wood served in France 1917-1919 and was wounded in action twice before returning home.
